Adventures of Jan and Peter Part 3: Madagascar Zebus, Highway N19 and Tip Toe through the Tsingy

May 2025
The worlds 4th largest island, Madagascar with an area similar to France is home to 31
million people and lots of Lemurs. Having seen various features of Madagascar on
National Geographic, it was the Lemurs, Baobab trees and Tsingy that attracted us.
Our week was split into two, 3 days in the south at Mandrare River and 4 days in the north
west at Namaroka Tsingy with accommodation in remote 5 star bush camps run by
Madagascar Classic (https://www.madaclassic.com/). Both camps were accessed by light
plane from the capital of Antananarivo and featured 8 Glamping tents, fine dining and bugs
galore. Other guests were interesting nature loving folk who were well travelled.
