Tanzania
Home to Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, incredible wildlife and beautiful coastlines and islands. Enjoy the wonders and exceptional game-viewing in the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera.
Witness the phenomenon of the great migration, when every year the vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and numerous other species leave the Ngorongoro Conservation Area of the southern Serengeti and loop in a clockwise direction, through the Serengeti National Park and move north towards the Masai Mara reserve in Kenya.
Explore the spice islands of Zanzibar, swim with whale sharks off the Mafia Archipelago or try to see elephants wandering the beaches of Saadani.
In southern Tanzania there is the vast and little-known Nyerere National Park, formerly known as the Selous Game Reserve, almost 50 000 square kilometres in area and one of Africa’s largest protected areas.
Numerous other protected areas are well worth visiting, such as Tarangire, Ruaha or Katavi National Parks.
